I think it is a terrific film and really should be out there for the public to see.

This documentary grants the audience access to an industry that is otherwise kept away from our view: a world were thousands of unskilled workers break down large commercial ships such as oil tankers and container vessels on the beaches in India. The economics of shipbreaking are one example of a globalized economy where the costs to deal with hazardous materials are externalized to poorer communities.

This is a true eye-opener not only for those who believe that environmental costs of globalization are unevenly shared, but anyone wishing to understand what’s wrong with exporting our waste abroad. The message is strong, the images powerful.
